Grange GC - 15th Green Complex

Just a shot of the 15th green complex at Grange GC on a frosty morning in December. The turfing of the green has been excellent and in fact the staff are cutting and topdressing the greens (14th and 15th) already.
The remodel has been very satisfying and we are looking forward to the remodel of the bunkers throughout the "old course" starting January 2009.
The new bunkers will be remodeled to modern specifications but taking great care to embrace the Braid design philosophies.
I look forward to the challenges ahead...

Birr Golf Club - 2 green remodel

I am delighted to be associated with the remodel of two green complexes at Birr GC. I have been a fan of Birr GC since my childhood and in fact, won the Midland Boys championship there some 26 years ago (when I could play). The two green complexes at the 7th and 12th are old soil based greens and there are many issues with them...including the green complexes holding water...see photo...
I have designed the green complexes to shed water from the play areas and 2,500 cub.m. of fill was imported to the green site to raise the profile of the green. The green is constructed to USGA specification. The complex is currently being returfed and the grow in will begin immediately.
Hopefully the members will be back on the new green complexes for the 2009 golfing season.
