Seeding of greens at Roscommon GC

We are delighted to advise that as we write the green complexes are being seeded at Roscommon GC. Almost all of the nine green surrounds have been topsoiled, power harrowed and hand raked with seeding to no's 10, 16, 17 & 18.

A decision was made on the Architects recommendation to place 1 inch of sand on the green surrounds, this will ensure a top class finish to the green complex but more particularly will provide a dry surface for golfers all year round.

It is hoped by the end of this week to have 3/4 greens seeded and finished - weather permitting.

Mountbellew GC nearing completion

The new 9 holes at Mountbellew is looking even better than previously expected ! The seed has struck in all areas and it has been worth the painstaking efforts of the seeding plan when we
see the results. The corridor of fescue grasses will prove a beautiful transition between the fairway and the woodlands.

We are currently building the bridges at the 5th and 6th holes
and we expect these to be finished this week.

The golf course is attracting a lot of attention with visitors peeping around for a glimpse !

Roscommon Update

Works are continuing to progress very well. Since the start date of
25th March 2008 - 11 weeks ago - all of the green complexes are
shaped, drained, gravel and rootzone in place and now topsoil applied to the surrounds of 4 no. greens - 3rd, 10th, 16th & 17th.

Our 15 week timescale is a little ahead of schedule and hopefully
with good weather works will be completed in 14 weeks.

It was encouraging to see the "finishing" equipment arriving on
site today i.e. Harrows, leveling bars, seeders etc..

The seeding of the greens will start this week.
